New City Church began with 10 families who committed to planting a church founded on six core values. Our story began in January of 2013 when the interested families gathered in a home to discuss the possibility of starting a new work in Louisville, Kentucky. After several subsequent meetings, the families gathered on Good Friday (March 29th) 2013 to officially commit themselves to planting New City Church.
Before we could secure a meeting place, the core group gathered for several months in homes. Our time was spent planning and praying for this new work.
Thank God for the Baptist building. When we had nowhere to go, the Kentucky Baptist Convention allowed us to use their building. We are eternally grateful for the kindness and generosity of fellow Christians.
After adding several additional families and expanding numerous ministries, we took the next step: the official launch of New City Church. We are grateful that the Down Syndrome of Louisville Board rents us the DSL building on South Hurstbourne Parkway. We love the space, but we need your help to outgrow it! Come and see what God is doing through New City Church.
